IHI VF36 WRX JDM V8-V9 STI Spec C RA Ball Bearing Turbo Twin Scroll
This turbo is a "twin scroll" type or commonly known as a "split pulse" housing. This turbine housing arrangement means that the turbo will spool up quicker, producing a better torque and power curve, lower in the RPM range. This is achieved by the exhaust gas pulses not creating turbulence at the collector point, as in a single entry manifold setup.
The VF36 turbo will not replace any single entry type VF series turbos. It also has a titanium turbine wheel. The VF36 turbo came out standard on the Subaru MY03 WRX Sti RA Spec C. It is a ball bearing turbo.
